My name is Amy Webb and I am a student at the University of Maryland. I C97F473F-CE37-43C8-B7BB-A75501F8E325 2am a believer in equal rights for people of all backgrounds and believe it is especially important to stand up for those who have a smaller voice than I could. I feel that I rarely hear transgender people spoken about in the media and find when I do it is overwhelmingly negative. I hope this blog will serve as a platform to provide a positive voice in the fight for transgender recognition.

This is my first time doing a blog and I’m looking forward to contributing in writing about recent issues transgender people are facing and standing up for their rights. Transgender rights are human rights and their struggles need to be brought to attention. I hope this blog helps in raising awareness of it.
